Short version: Transcribe does not require an account and we do not sell your personal data. Your recordings and transcripts are stored on your device and, when iCloud Sync is enabled, in your private iCloud database. Apple may process audio for speech recognition. Optional AI features send only the text you choose to process to OpenRouter after you consent. Firebase helps us understand app usage and crashes, while Google AdMob processes advertising data subject to applicable consent and tracking controls.
Transcribe ("the App") is developed and operated by Andy Chung, operating as AppStudio ("we," "us," or "our"). The App is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone.

We do not send the words in your recordings or transcripts to Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or advertising services.
iCloud Sync is enabled by default when an eligible iCloud account and container are available, and you can turn it off in the App's settings. When enabled, transcript records and associated content may be stored in your private Apple CloudKit database so they can sync across your devices. This data is associated with your Apple account and is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. We do not use it for advertising or analytics and do not operate a separate transcript-storage server.
Smart Summary, Key Points, Translation, AI Chat, and text-improvement tools are optional. Before the first AI request, the App asks for your explicit consent.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve reliability and understand how features perform. These services may process:
We do not set a Firebase user ID and our analytics events are designed not to include transcript text, titles, file names, AI prompts, or AI responses. Analytics storage is enabled for app measurement; ad storage, ad user data, and ad-personalization signals are disabled by default in Firebase.
The free version may display ads through Google AdMob. Google may process device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, advertising data, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and—where permitted—personalize ads.
We do not sell personal data. Some advertising disclosures may be treated as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under applicable law; the controls above let you limit that processing.
The App offers weekly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions and may offer a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes billing through the App Store and we do not receive your full payment-card information. The App reads verified StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to unlock Pro features and may send limited purchase-event metadata to Firebase for analytics.
You can change system permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission may disable the related feature.
Because no AppStudio account is required, we generally cannot identify a particular analytics or advertising record from your name or email. For device-level controls, use the consent, tracking, reset, and deletion options described in this policy.

These providers may process data in countries other than where you live, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
You can delete transcripts, disable iCloud Sync, decline or revoke AI consent, manage advertising privacy choices, deny tracking, change system permissions, cancel subscriptions, or uninstall the App. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and respond, but we cannot retrieve local-only content or identify anonymous records that are not reasonably linked to you.
We use platform protections, encrypted network transport, limited-access service credentials, and data-minimization practices intended to protect information. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Transcribe is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information should contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
