Please read these Terms carefully before using Transcribe. By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not download or use the App.
Transcribe ("the App") is a speech-to-text application for iPhone developed and operated by Andy Chung, operating as AppStudio ("we," "us," or "our"). The App enables users to transcribe speech in real time, import audio and video files for transcription, use optional AI-powered tools with consent, sync through iCloud, and export transcriptions in various formats.
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) and agree to these Terms of Use.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on an Apple device you own or control, in accordance with these Terms, the App Store rules, and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"). These Terms supplement the Apple EULA; the Apple EULA controls if there is a conflict.

Transcribe is free to download and use with limited features. Optional paid plans ("Pro") are available as follows:
All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. The price, currency, billing period, trial or introductory offer, and features shown in the App Store purchase sheet at confirmation are the terms of your purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
Cancellation and refunds: Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Apple controls billing and refund eligibility; submit refund requests to Apple. Nothing here limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived.
Restore Purchases: If you reinstall the App or use a new device, you can restore your previous purchases using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App's settings.
The free version of Transcribe operates within the following usage limits:
Current limits are also shown in the App and may change in future versions. Pro removes the listed free-tier gates while an eligible entitlement is active, but reasonable technical, file-size, service-availability, safety, and fair-use limits may still apply.
Transcribe's optional AI features (including Smart Summary, Key Points, Translation, AI Chat, and text improvement) send the text and instructions needed for your request through our Cloudflare-hosted relay to OpenRouter. OpenRouter may route the request to an underlying model provider. By granting consent and submitting an AI request, you instruct us to perform that transfer and agree that:
You may revoke consent to future AI data sharing at any time in Settings → AI Privacy. Revocation does not affect requests already processed.
You agree to use Transcribe only for lawful purposes. You must not use the App to:
You are solely responsible for the content you transcribe and for ensuring your use complies with applicable local laws, including laws regarding consent to record conversations.
The App, including its design, code, branding, and included content (excluding user content), is owned by AppStudio or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
You retain any rights you already hold in recordings, transcripts, prompts, and other content you provide. You grant us and our service providers a limited right to process that content only as needed to provide the feature you request, maintain security, and comply with law.
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
Speech recognition accuracy depends on factors outside our control including audio quality, background noise, accent, language-model availability, and Apple's speech-recognition services. The App is not designed as an emergency, safety-critical, medical, legal, or official recordkeeping service. Keep independent copies of important content.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AppStudio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the App and its service providers process data. By using features that require a permission or separate consent, you authorize the processing described at the time of that choice. You can withdraw optional permissions or consent as described in the Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
We may revise these Terms as the App, services, or legal requirements change. We will post revised Terms here and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed acceptance. Changes do not retroactively reduce rights for purchases already completed except where permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where we operate, without excluding mandatory protections available under the law of your place of residence. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Before bringing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
